SUMMARY OF ROLE The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and integration of sophisticated automated production test systems using National Instruments LabView and TestStand. They must be able to collaborate and interact well with key project stakeholders during all phases of the system development life-cycle (SDLC). This can include customer troubleshooting and support (both remote and on-site). Up to 20% travel may be required.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Define, develop and validate production test systems using National Instruments LabView and TestStand
  • Troubleshooting and debugging of electro-mechanical components and software
  • Support Sales team in the development of system proposals and customer quotes
  • Contribute ideas to overall system design and work closely with Mechanical, Electrical and System Integration staff
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
  • 5-10 years of experience in designing, developing and implementing production test systems
  • Demonstrated expertise in National Instruments LabView
  • Strong critical thinking skills with proven ability to troubleshoot and debug issues
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to learn and expand skill set
  • Able to work either independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Preferred Requirements
  • MS in Electrical, Computer, or other Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated expertise in National Instruments TestStand, LabWindows or other software development languages (C#, C++, Java)
  • Demonstrated experience in relational databases
  • CLD or CLA certification

Job Description Candidate will be responsible for the design and development of automated inspection, measurement and test systems.  This will include component selection, solid models, detailed drawings, testing, troubleshooting, schedule adherence, cost, performance and quality.  Applications and must be able to interact well with clients during all phases of the system integration process. This position requires some travel but is centered around the Raleigh-Durham, NC area.    Job Requirements
  • Generates engineering drawings, bills of material and documentation
  • Generates concept sketches and layout drawings as well as creating new equipment designs
  • Interaction with engineering project teams as a principle team member with expertise in mechanical design
  • Interprets specifications and execute design work per specification
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree (equivalent experience and/or degree considered)
  • Experience with Solidworks a must
  • Mechanical design practice including fundamental engineering principles, design principles, basic calculations and familiarity with industrial standards and practice
